What To Bring

·         Signed Medical Form - these will be handed in in the weeks before we leave for summer camp.  By the time we leave for camp we should have all of these though

·         Medications - to be given to the troop medical officer with full directions on dosages, time of day to take medicine, doctor name.   This needs to be in a labeled zip-loc bag.  This should include any aspirin, Ibuprofen, Tylenol etc. that your child might need to have.

·         Class "A" Uniform (neckercheif/socks/belt)

SPECIAL NOTE FOR CAMP DANIEL BOONE: We expect that the nights and mornings will be of a cooler temperature than what we generally experience at other camps. Consider this when packing, maybe an extra pair of long pants, to knit hat and a decent jacket (waterproof if possible ~ but raingear could go over it).

Clothing (for 6 days)

o    Underwear

o    Socks

o    T-Shirts (white or light colored - black is too hot)

o    Hat

o    Pants (1 pair)

o    Shorts ( 2- 3 pair)

o    Tennis Shoes/Hiking boots ( 2 pair of shoes - closed toed shoes must be worn in camp)

o    ** Poncho or Raincoat

o    Swim Suit

o    Extra clothing ( 2 pair of socks, 1 pair of underwear, 1 t-shirt)

Sleep Gear

o    Pillow

o    Sleeping Bag

o    Sleeping pad

o    Bug repellant

Toiletries

o    Comb/Brush

o    Soap

o    Deodorant

o    Toothbrush/toothpaste

Other

o    Water bottle - don't leave home without it!

o    Scout Handbook (Important!!) - this should include Notebook and pen/pencil(s)

o    **Flashlight with extra batteries

o    Gold Bond powder

o    Spending Money - we will be stopping for one meal going up and one meal coming back (figure avg. $7 per meal) and then spending money during the week for things at the camp store, maybe a t-shirt or souvenir.  Your son will be responsible for taking care and keeping their own money. If they lose it, it's gone!  It may be best to keep the meal money separate from the spending money for camp.

o    Camera (disposable)

o    Drinking Cup

o    **Daypack with Scout essentials (may already include other items in this list)

o    Bible/Devotional/Book

o    **Pocketknife

o    **First-aid kit

o    **Sunscreen

o    Snacks (non-chocolate or perishable to be kept in troop trailer) - These can be placed in a large zip-loc bag with your sons name on it.

Everything above, MUST be packed 1st in zip-loc bags and then in a container of your choice. Such containers may be duffel bags, Rubbermaid containers or backpacks.  It is generally a good idea to separate out a days worth of cloths in each zip-loc back to make it easier for you son to find clothing.

** Scouting Outdoor Essentials

The Scout Outdoor Essentials, as practiced by the Boy Scouts of America, are a list of ten items or categories of items that should be brought by each individual to any outdoor activity, such as camping or hiking.
